Quantel V9 software to boost Editbox packages

Quantel have released its new Version 9 software for Editbox, the industry-leading online SD editing system.
The new software contains a host of tools that speed the editing process end-to-end, and add enormous compositing power for effects-heavy work.
Version 9 boosts Editbox performance in three key areas – primary editing, audio management and multi-layer compositing.
Quantel Business Manager, Steve Owen, said: "V9 is a big step forward for Editbox and these new facilities are the result of much consultation with users, so we know that they will welcome them. In fact, we're so confident that we're offering every Editbox owner the opportunity to try them for free."
The new primary editing tools are intended to increase productivity across all applications and are particularly invaluable when editing without an EDL – for example, in promos, sports and news.
The V9 primary editing features include tail-free desk editing; new in/out and viewer 'tuck' marking for faster shot selection and compilation and folded view editing for faster shot re-ordering.
The product's super history compositing increases the compositing power of Editbox enormously – a four-layer system becomes 16 layers, eight layers a massive 64. Every layer retains full set-up information and can be adjusted independently or as part of a group, and gives the editor new control over sequence-dependent effects.
