EDITBOX CHOICE PROGRAMME INTRODUCED AT NAB

QUANTEL introduced their Editbox Choice programme that offers a ‘build to order’ option for their successful editing range and showcased Version 8.2 software at NAB.
The latest software further enhances Quantel’s existing editing products capabilities by providing more features and increased power across the range.
The Editbox Choice programme extends the capabilities of Quantel’s popular non-linear editing system into the promo and shortform markets by allowing users to choose an ideal Editbox specification for their particular application from a range of options.
Quantel Marketing Director Nigel Turner said: “Editbox continues to be the most powerful editing and effects system on the market. With the Editbox Choice build-to-order program, smaller post houses or broadcast graphics suites can now buy into the power of Editbox, adding as much capability as they require, whenever they want it.”
Editbox Choice allows greater flexibility in choosing a system for a broad range of applications, including commercials, trailers, episodic effects, shortform and now increasingly promos.
All systems ship with the latest version 8.2 software, including improved auto conform (OMFI), captioning developments, graphical keyframe control, enhanced keying tools, and lens effects - all maintaining the core feature set - and all systems continue to offer full power dual bandwidth capability. This maintains an easy upgrade path for future developments across the range.
Higher up the range, Editbox FX has been powered up to include four hours of high performance 601 storage and new Clipnet networking features. Clipnet adds enormous potential for increased productivity, allowing background loading with the Image Mine background loader which allows new work to be loaded without interrupting editing. Clipnet also extends third party connectivity, facilitates teamworking with the new Quantel iQ systems and delivers fast transfers between multiple Editboxes.
The new 8.20 version software includes a range of new developments for Clipnet, assemble editing and new audio mixdown tools. Version 8.20 also enhances the teamworking capabilities between Editbox and Quantel’s new live video production platform, Clipbox Studio. All version 8.20 software features are free of charge to anyone who already has version 8.
The Editbox Choice programme is available world-wide and all enhancements to the Editing range are now shipping. (SP)
