Fred Schultz of Sundance Digital to speak at SMPTE 2003

Fred Schultz, Sundance Digital's vice president of newsroom automation, will be among the industry experts delivering white papers at SMPTE's 145th Technical Conference and Exhibition.
The conference will be held in the Hilton New York, November 12-15, 2003. Schultz's paper, entitled 'Digital News Production, Workflow, and Management', will examine the clustering of optimised buildout pathways which have evolved as a result of differing ownership expectations. Schultz will evaluate the manner in which those expectations influence decision-making processes about media hardware as well as about the automation solutions needed to underpin the desired workflow and maximize the benefits sought. In addition, Schultz will also elaborate on initial purchase priorities, paths for upgrading, and integration needs of networks and station groups.
Schultz, a pioneer in server technology, has developed numerous tiers of broadcast newsroom solutions including NewsLink - Sundance Digital's innovative control software to integrate the digital newsroom. Author of a series of white papers on server technology and a recipient of a primetime Emmy for his work in television, Schultz holds a PhD degree from Vanderbilt University.
