Pixel Power improves newsroom graphics workflow
Pixel Power have announced major graphics workflow improvements for both MOS enabled and iNews ControlAir Newsrooms using its established range of Clarity character generators and still stores.
Pixel Power has implemented ActiveX controls within the iNews desktop client, which allow browsing and searching for stills and character generator templates via the new Pixel Browser technology. Stills or CG pages can be dragged and dropped into the story by the journalist with both proxy and full resolution WYSIWYG previews of the finished graphic available. The graphic information is propagated automatically to the ControlAir server for playout, completely automating the insertion and playout of stills and captions for news.
James Gilbert, Commercial Director of Pixel Power Ltd., said: "Automating graphics workflow in the Newsroom environment is a hot topic right now. Whilst MOS is gaining popularity, the combination of our ActiveX control with iNews and ControlAir offers a cost-effective alternative. The Clarity platform in conjunction with PixelMOS or iNews ActiveX control is ideally suited to this new environment, delivering significant cost savings in both capital expenditure and staff overhead."
The key benefit of PixelMOS is that it supports automatic dubbing of graphics material, even across multiple sites and PixelMOS gateways. This permits plug and play CG replacement as all content is held on the PixelMOS server, as well as simple publication of a new graphics look by uploading new graphics to the PixelMOS server.
Established in 1987, Pixel Power is dedicated to providing broadcasters and facilities with powerful graphics and character generator products. The company's corporate headquarters are located in Cambridge, England, with a wholly owned US subsidiary, Pixel Power Inc., based in Pompano Beach, Florida. Pixel Power is exhibiting at NAB, Booth SU5359.
