APT sell first WorldNet Milano to Far East

Belfast-based company APT has sold its latest ISDN codec – the WorldNet Milano to audio post-production facility Opuz – the first facility in the Far East to invest in product.
The WorldNet Milano features Enhanced apt-X, the latest version of APT’s groundbreaking data compression algorithm. Opuz previously used APT’s DSM 100 and DRT128 codecs but switched to Milano because it offers better sound quality and functionality.
William Woodside, APT’s Sales Manager for Asia, said: “Opuz has long been associated with quality and investing in the WorldNet Milano is indicative of their progressive nature and on-going commitment to service their customers’ requirements in an competitive market.”
Paul Tan, one of the founding directors of Opuz said it was important for the facility to remain at the technological cutting edge and that this was one of the primary reasons for investing in Enhanced apt-X™.
“Our decision to purchase the Milano was based on its 1-U structure, which is far less bulky than previous models. We were also won over by the fact that Enhanced apt-X offers a higher bit rate, something that we feel is good for our future forward planning (DVD, 20 and 24-bit audio, etc). Naturally, sound quality was high on our list of priorities and we were very impressed with the improvements the Milano offered," she said.
Mr Tan added that the Milano’s backwards compatibility with older APT units was also instrumental in the choice.
