East England’s filming assets to be showcased in new guide

The East of England’s charms as a filming location, demonstrated by 'Sylvia', 'Saving Private Ryan' and 'The Hours', are to be showcased in a unique Production Guide dedicated to the region that will attract film and television companies worldwide.
Screen East, the regional Screen Agency for the East of England, has been awarded funding by the East of England Development Agency (EEDA) to produce the guide. The publication – the only directory to be entirely dedicated to the region – will be an essential free reference guide for national and international film and television production companies looking for locations, crew, production facilities and local services within the East of England. It is also a vital promotional tool as it will showcase some of the unique locations that are to be found in the region.
Laurie Hayward, Chief Executive of Screen East, said: “We are delighted to have received funding from EEDA to produce this guide. The Production Guide will promote the East of England as a filming location and list the talented crew that live and work here. It will also help to increase inward investment into the region.”
Chris Holt, Head of Locations at Screen East, said: “The Guide will be invaluable to the promotion of the region's facilities and crew to filmmakers. The East of England boasts a large number of film studios and production facilities, together with a growing network of support companies.”
The Production Guide to the East of England will be launched in Spring 2004.
