APT announce new appointments
Audio data compression specialist APT (Audio Processing Technology), developers of apt-X, the loss-less algorithm, has announced the appointment of two new members of staff.
Formerly with telecommunications company Nevada, Kevin Campbell has joined APT as customer support (Hardware) manager with responsibility for after sales support across the company’s entire range of hardware products, including the very popular WorldNet series. He will be the first point of contact for existing customers, helping to ensure they receive the information and assistance they need.
APT has also appointed Dr. Trevor Scott PhD as licensing support manager with responsibility for helping new licensees to integrate APT’s apt-X algorithm into third party products. His appointment reflects an increase in demand for the licensable formats of the successful data compression algorithm apt-X, i.e. DSP and DLL. Scott, who was previously based in New York, joins the company from the banking industry where he was employed to write specialist software. He also has extensive DSP implementation knowledge in Mission Critical applications, for example medicine and banking.
Jon McClintock, commercial director for APT, said: “We are delighted to welcome Kevin and Trevor to the company. We have a spectacular increase in demand for apt-X in DSP and DLL formats, so Trevor’s appointment, in particular, highlights the importance we currently place on licensing our groundbreaking technology. Having Trevor on the team will help streamline the development and integration process by ensuring that any technical issues are resolved in an effective and timely manner.”
McClintock adds that Kevin Campbell’s experience in a pressurised support environment reflects the growing number of broadcasters, service providers and independent studios using APT codecs for ISDN and Leased Line applications.
