Pinnacle Systems reveals line-up for NAB

After profitable growth quarter boosting the company revenues to over $70 million in cash, Pinnacle Systems is headed for NAB – booth L10621.
Pinnacle Systems' FXDeko II, Thunder, DVEXcel and CinéWave are among the central technologies being used in both broadcast and video applications throughout the 2002 Olympic games. In addition, the company's Vortex networked news solutions most recently went live at AOL Time Warner’s NY1 24-hour news channel where it is a key component in an all-digital news environment.
For NAB 2002, Pinnacle Systems will demonstrate the increasing interoperability between all of its product lines. A centerpiece of Pinnacle Systems’ NAB presence will be the new Palladium connectivity architecture for connecting and sharing media between all Pinnacle Systems products, as well as third parties.
CinéWave, the professional editing and compositing solution for unlocking the potential of Apple’s Final Cut Pro will be on show. With the full real-time uncompressed capability of CinéWave RT and the CinéWave HD, broadcasters can achieve a cost-effective creative capability.
Pinnacle Systems' live production products will also provide capability to deploy a fully networked, scalable on-air production environment that shares content assets between Pinnacle Systems' switchers, DVEs, character generators, and production still and clip servers.
New for NAB will be software enhancements across the entire Deko product line. In particular are new options to enhance the creative capabilities of the FXDeko II, providing users with even more graphic compositing capabilities. These will include the ability to have multiple objects such as clocks, stock quotes, and other data driven graphics presented in real-time.
The company's new software will give DekoCast multichannel playout capability and smart control panel interfaces and will enable true dual-channel localisation of template based-graphics for localisation applications.
DVEXCEL will be on show demonstrating combiner functionality, increases on-line effects capacity, and offers numerous customer-based operational enhancements including many developed for the 2002 Winter Olympics broadcast.
NAB 2002 will be the first US showing of the PDS 6000, a smaller version of Pinnacle's award-winning PDS 9000 product. Ideal for small news operations, trucks, small live studios and venues, this 1.5 ME version of the PDS features 6 full 3D DVEs.
NAB will be the first showing off the new TARGA 3000-based Vortex platform that features simultaneous DV 25 and MPEG-1 support and new content delivery solutions.
