Sky News Refreshes Morning News Offering
Sky News is to refresh its morning news offering with two new strands across the breakfast period.
Kay Burley will anchor 'Kay Burley@Breakfast' from Sky News' Westminster studios, with a hard-hitting, news making breakfast news programme that will set the agenda for the day. Kay will come eyeball to eyeball with the politicians, break the latest lines on moving news stories from home and abroad as well as addressing the contemporary talking points of the day on culture, tech and climate.
From 14 October with MP's returning to Parliament and as the countdown to Brexit enters its final fortnight, there’s no better time to be launching the UK’s only breakfast offering from the seat of political power.
Kay has hosted more hours of live television than any other presenter, having been with the channel since 1988. Her programme will also build on Kay’s strong social media following with a fully integrated digital strategy, airing from 7am to 9am Monday to Thursday.
It follows 'The Early Rundown' which will air from 6am to 7am each weekday morning and gives early risers all they need to know to tackle the day. Presenter Niall Paterson will give viewers a comprehensive round up of events overnight, and throwing ahead to the stories to come, with a strong emphasis on news, business, international affairs and politics.
On Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays '@Breakfast' will see anchors Stephen Dixon and Gillian Joseph present the breakfast show from Sky Studios in Osterley in a slightly more relaxed style to kick off the weekend.
Sarah-Jane Mee, host of Sunrise for the past three years moves to the afternoon with the Sarah-Jane Mee Show from 2pm to 5pm. As well as being across all the main news developments of the day, Sarah-Jane will feature longer form interviews on topical issues and a Daily Debate.
