SKY NEWS ORDER FIVE PINNACLE FXDECO’S

SKY NEWS have placed an order with Pinnacle Systems, providers of digital video tools, for five FXDeko CG’s all with Rocket for Deko and ClipDeko.
Four of the systems will be situated at the main Sky Newsroom in London while the other is to be installed at their Westminster Studios.
Paul Vickerage, Head of Production for Sky News, said: “What we were looking for was a system that would give us advanced character and graphics generation for live broadcasting with built-in 3D and Clip capability. Integration of the new system is an issue for us since the service cannot be interrupted, Pinnacle have offered their full support to help us achieve this seamlessly.”
FXDeko has recently been enhanced with a Version 4 software upgrade option which adds new capabilities, including dynamic blur, keyhole transitions, plug-in progress and real time feedback on plug-in parameters. In addition, five new plug-in effects, including 3D ripple and cylinder, can be applied to the entire graphic or individual letters.
Version 4 includes numerous other innovations and improvements, including rolls with pauses, continuous crawls, graphics, imbedded effects, and named layers.
