Hamburg post house choose Quantel’s HD editor

Leading Hamburg film and TV commercials production company Fata Morgana have added a Quantel eQ resolution co-existent HD editing system with the integrated QColor in-context colour correction package to its state-of-the-art post production facility.
Fata Morgana owner, Alan Vydra, sees the acquisition of the eQ as key to the company’s continuing success and growth. He said: “From a single edit on the eQ we can produce versions of commercials for both television and the cinema.
“The eQ operates entirely uncompressed with full 10 bit HD, guaranteeing the highest possible quality, and conversion to any required format only needs to happen once at output, on-the-fly, with no pre-planning, restarts or disk partitioning. It speeds the job through the edit suite and saves our customers time and money too.”
Vydra also sees QColor as a powerful addition to Fata Morgana’s production capabilities. “It allows us to grade as we go – a much more natural way of working that allows far greater creativity than hiving material off to separate workstations. It also greatly improves workflow – and that means better results quicker for our customers, and more creative satisfaction – and more jobs through the suite - for us.
