Discreet to showcase firsts at The Production Show

News Image
At the Production Show on Stand No. 420, Discreet, a division of Autodesk, will be showcasing a number of firsts in its award-winning visual effects, non-linear editing and streaming solutions at this year's event.
The exhibition marks the first UK public demonstration of flame 7.6, Discreet's award-winning visual effects system and the first European citing of the newly launched cleaner central and cleaner streaming studio. Also on the stand will be Discreet's editing system - smoke 5, its visual effects and compositing system – combustion 2, its key animation solution - 3ds max 4 and the award-winning cleaner™ software.
Utilising brand new demo material from its worldwide user base, Discreet will be highlighting the key enhancements available in flame 7.6, which began shipping in February. The release comprises more than 100 new features and enhancements, focusing on product design, workflow, performance and extending the range and depth of its toolset. In addition to supporting the latest SGI visual workstations, Octane2 and Onyx 3200, flame 7.6 has expanded on tools such as the Colour Warper™, with new modes for colour correction, pressure sensitive trackballs, new selective options, expanded hotkeys and reset buttons as well as the ability to save and load Colour Warper sub-setups.
Discreet's cleaner central is for professionals who require increased streaming output and efficient distributed workflow management. Scalable for large streaming projects, cleaner central automates the process of mastering content to the Web, DVD and other digital delivery mediums used in web based marketing, product promotions, entertainment, e-learning and corporate communications. It operates on standard Windows-based workstations and servers to take advantage of existing infrastructure investments.
Discreet is also a sponsor of the 'Visual Effects Artist' category at the inaugural B+ Young Talent Awards. Designed to showcase young TV and film-making talent in the UK, the awards will be presented at The Production Show on Wednesday, May 22.
