Sony BPE launches XPRI V3 editing software

Sony Broadcast & Professional Europe have strengthened their commitment to non-linear editing systems by announcing version three software upgrade for all the XPRI product range.
XPRI version three not only makes it easier and faster for editors to use, it also allows them to edit in either native IMX or HD CAM editing.
XPRI comprises three models, a dedicated IMX system, a standard definition editor and a fully featured high definition editor capable of working in either compressed or uncompressed high-definition modes. All employ the same simple operating system and intuitive GUI.
Since its launch in April 2001, XPRI has received widespread industry endorsement. Sony developed the system with 50,000 editor's requirements in mind and whether their global application is MPEG, standard definition or high definition XPRI has the configuration. XPRI is also designed for ease of use and anyone experienced in using mainstream NLEs will need minimal training.
Mac Million, a major London-based post-production house, was the first European customer to use XPRI. They have both broadcast and corporate clients, including the BBC, CNN and MTV. Editor Carel Nell has used the XPRI to edit a short film directed by Georgina Starr, "Bobby, Bunny, Buffer", on behalf of Sohorunner Ltd.
