Wood & Douglas supply AA Roadwatch

Wood & Douglas Ltd have supplied AA Roadwatch with radio transmitters, receivers and Airlinks as part of their launch of live airborne traffic broadcasts starting next month.
The specially equipped aircraft, Piper Seneca II twin props, will be fitted with the latest communications equipments and travel broadcasters will use their bird's eye view of the roads to keep motorists out of jams.
The equipment will be installed on three aircraft flying out of Bristol, Coventry and Southend airports and the reports will be used by around 30 FM radio stations in England. The breadth of traffic reporting and numbers of listeners makes this one of the biggest exercises of its kind. Reports will be made during breakfast show and evening drive times.
The order comprises seven Airlinks for air to ground reporting, 10 base receivers and 10 base transmitters.
