Granada Visual partner ARKEMEDIA to develop digital asset system
Granada Visual have appointed ARKEMEDIA Technologies as their business partner in the development of a digital asset management system.
Launched in April 2002, Granada Visual provide a single point of entry to footage from the libraries of all Granada owned companies, including Anglia, Border, HTV Network, LWT, Meridian, Partridge, Survival, Tyne Tees and Yorkshire. With just one call, customers can now access an ever increasing catalogue of over 100,000 hours of diverse programming and materials, from entertainment and music to drama and documentaries or news and personalities to wildlife and stockshots.
With ARKEMEDIA Technologies' 'ark-e-media' software at its core, the project will look to vastly improve the efficiency of the Granada Visual workflow processes by allowing the creation of a fully searchable visual database, designed to tag specific metadata to streamable clips. Additionally the project will allow the ingestion of current programme databases and also interface with existing rights management software.
