Triangle Development Scheme Selects Final Four
After five months of training and skills development four teams have progressed to the final stage of project development on Triangle 2012, the national film development scheme for producer, director and writer ‘triangles’.
Triangle 2012 is managed by Screen Yorkshire and Northern Film & Media, and is funded by the Creative Skillset Film Skills Fund as part of A Bigger Future 2, the UK’s Film Skills Strategy.
The four teams have been selected from 75 participants who have taken part in a series of workshops and seminars along with intensive support from industry mentors. Creative England is now providing £5000 development funding for each project as they develop to be market ready.
The projects are:
Shock Exit For Sidney: Writer James Harris, Producer Sarah Brocklehurst, Director Duska Zagorac
Wild Dog Country: Writer Jessica Sinyard, Producer Rachel Connors, Director Gabrielle Russell
Glastonbury Trip: Writers Lindsay Williams & Peter Kerry, Producer Sarah Brocklehurst, Director Oonagh Kearney
Foxglove: Writer/Director Ian Cottage, Producer Sol Papadopoulos
The four projects were selected by the Triangle mentors, Hugo Heppell (Head of Investments – Screen Yorkshire), Caroline Cooper-Charles (Senior Talent Executive North – Creative England), Alby James (Producer/Script Consultant) and Ivana MacKinnon (Producer), with the assistance of David Wilkinson of Guerrilla Films and Anna Seifert-Speck of Creative England. Triangle 2012 participants took part in seminars involving industry including Diarmid Scrimshaw of Warp Films; Atif Ghani - Producer of ill Manors; Ian Benson - agent at The Agency; Kwesi Dickson and Carola Ash of Future Films; Piers Tempest of Salt; Peter Gerard of Distrify; Alex Usbourne of 104 Films; and Alison Meese of Studio Canal.
Hugo Heppell, Head of Investments at Screen Yorkshire, said: "Taking Triangle 2012 national increased competition for places and has led to a real uplift in the quality of projects. We’ve now got four excellent projects and teams for the final stages, leading to first draft scripts and strong team relationships. I’d like to thank all those in the UK film industry who continue to support the Triangle scheme."
