Obituary: Matthew Allwork, Aerial Camera Systems

On behalf of Aerial Camera Systems, it is with deep sadness that I have to announce the sudden and tragic death on Wednesday March 26 of company CEO, Matthew Allwork, killed in a helicopter accident whilst filming on location in Dubai.
A former Great Britain Olympic rower and world-renowned cameraman, Matthew was just 39 years of age.
With Emmy awards for his work on the Janet Jackson 'The Velvet Rope' video and again for his coverage of the Sydney Olympics, he is survived by his wife Susie and two children Tasha and Jamie.
This news has of course been a terrible shock to everyone in our family, at ACS and the countless number of Matthew’s friends and colleagues.
In these tragic circumstances however, we know that Matthew would insist that the company continues to achieve the standards of excellence that he was famous for and that ACS proudly provides. To this end, everyone in the company has committed themselves to maintaining Matthew’s extraordinary drive, enthusiasm and commitment to work and to those we work with.
In this difficult time, Phillip Beckett will assume the role of Chief Operating Officer of Aerial Camera Systems. Phillip’s detailed knowledge and understanding of all aspects of the company will ensure that ACS negotiates this great loss as smoothly as possible. He will of course be supported by the outstanding Management and Operations team that has been hand-picked by Matthew and developed over recent years to his exceptional and award-winning standards of service and technical ability.
The challenge for us now is to continue to fulfill every one of Matthew’s expectations and aspirations for Aerial Camera Systems. In our sadness we accept that challenge providing and developing the superior specialist broadcast systems that ACS and Matthew Allwork are famous for.
