TIVO HIRES MATTHEW ZINN AS VICE PRESIDENT

TIVO, creators of the personal television service, have hired Matthew Zinn as their Vice President, General Counsel and Chief Privacy Officer.
Zinn will oversee the company’s legal issues, government relations and customer privacy policy, developing company strategies and positions.
Zinn said: "As we see our growth in consumer adoption of the TiVo Personal TV Service, it’s paramount that TV viewers can put their trust in us in this new world of personal TV. We plan to aggressively implement strict security and privacy policies to ensure that personal viewing information is just that – personal. As we work with manufacturing, advertising, network and service partners, it’s important that these strict guidelines are maintained. In my new position, I will help TiVo continue to lead the industry in establishing the highest standards possible to protect the privacy of user habits."
As Chief Privacy Officer, Zinn will implement TiVo’s privacy policy, the first privacy policy in the emerging Personal TV Services industries.
The policy aims to ensure that an individual’s viewing information will never be shared without the viewer’s permission and further enquiries that all of TiVo’s partners adhere to strict policy guidelines as well.
