Visual Impact Roadshow Proves To Be A Massive Hit

During March, Visual Impact took to the road with major manufacturers, local experts and leading media company TV Bay to bring the latest technology and information to the regions. Held in Glasgow, Manchester, Cardiff, Bristol and London, their 'Look Listen Experience' roadshow attracted over 1,000 visitors who got their hands on the latest technology, discovered the new trends and networked with colleagues from the local media community.
“The reaction to both the concept and delivery of the show has been great,” said Rob Newton Group Business Manager for Visual Impact, “with many customers and manufacturers committing to come again next year and bringing their colleagues along!”
In the past, events like these have focused on the London area with many media professionals left with no alternative but to travel long distances if they wanted to get their hands on the latest technology. It took independent dealer Visual Impact to break the mould and deliver the kit right into the heart of the production community in the regions.
Comprising three elements, visitors could either see the latest products and talk directly with the experts from leading brands such as Sony, Panasonic, Canon, Sachtler, Vinten and Litepanels in the 'Manufacturers Zone', try-out the latest production equipment in one of five dedicated Hands-on areas manned by Visual Impact staff, or attend one of the many seminar sessions running throughout the day.
The Seminar Programme included over 36 hours of free educational content across eight themed sessions. Keynote speakers for 2012 included a host of leading experts from the broadcast, IT and streaming industries including world renowned cinematographer Geoff Boyle, Jon “Call of Duty” Pratchett, Award winning film maker Fiona Lloyd-Davies and Finance guru Peter Savage. Many of the sessions were standing room only with 1,800 places taken over the course of the roadshow.
The idea of bringing the latest technology to the regions in a relaxed and intimate atmosphere rather than the noise and frenzy surrounding larger events proved to be a hit with all concerned.
In fact the feedback has been so positive they are going to do it all over again in March next year.
If you want to view highlights of the event, hear comments from visitors or watch the seminar sessions go onto the Look Listen Experience website.
