BBC WiScape signs distribution deal with Visual Impact

BBC WiScape, a business unit of BBC Vecta and a specialist provider of wireless broadcast products, has announced the signing of a distribution contract with Visual Impact.
The deal with Visual Impact, an international supplier of professional broadcasting equipment, will expand the reach of BBC WiScape’s revolutionary wireless products to Ireland, France, South Africa and Eastern Europe.
With over 16 years in the ENG/SNG market, Visual Impact has a wide base of high profile, international clients who are regularly using its products for broadcasting. BBC WiScape’s cutting edge wireless broadcast products - which have their roots in technology developed by the BBC research and development team, will be incorporated into Visual Impact’s focussed product portfolio.
BBC WiScape’s WiCam-D, an outside broadcast digital wireless camera and its WiCam-C, a wireless newsgathering camera, have been used by the BBC and national and international broadcasters in over 500 high profile, live events including the Rugby World Cup 2003, the Swedish World Ski Championships 2004, the Pope’s anniversary in Rome 2003 and the Commonwealth Games 2002.
