Vector 3 Announces IBC Preview

Graphics and playout automation specialists Vector 3 will be demonstrating the broadcast multichannel solution Vector Multiplay and the all-in-one Vectorbox chassis at the IBC 2011 exhibition held in Amsterdam from September 9 - 13, 2011 on Stand 7-C01.
Designed for Hub and Spoke playout, Vector MultiPlay provides the Hub automation component while Vectorbox expertly plays the Spoke.
Roman Ceano, General Manager, Vector 3, said: "With many broadcasters evaluating integrated workflows powered by a media asset management platform, we have enhanced our playout solutions to integrate deeply with MAM applications. We are the best playout solution in the market and to integrate with the best MAMs we need to share with them some key features. In addition to advancing our integration with MAM platforms, Vector 3 R&D is also enhancing the MCR workflows by providing more web-based solutions such as the new multi-viewer that allows the entire staff to tune in to the control room from virtually any desk making broadcast management much more flexible. Saving manpower in playout is certainly linked with automating processes but even more with clever monitoring that allows operators to only be warned when human actions are needed."
Highlights of Vector 3 advanced playout technology include:
  • New MAM capabilities for smart integration with fully tapeless workflows
  • Integration with Diva, Xendata and SGI for cart machine management
  • Web-based Multichannel Viewer with multichannel timeline view
  • New software Inspector for real time control of live signals
  • New EPG formats
  • Even more extensive Subtitle file support
  • Third-party compatibility for aspect ratio management (AFD, RP-186 and WSS)
  • More compatibility with third party playlist and as-run logs
  • Compatible with NAS and SAN storage vendors
Vector MultiPlay gives broadcasters the full range of multichannel playout capabilities; smart ingest, easy centralised and comprehensive monitoring added to effortless graphics management and channel branding. Vector MultiPlay incorporates everything offered by any vendor plus the dynamic redundancy management that ensures investments deliver the maximum security possible.
For non-multichannel broadcasting (Spokes and Disaster Recovery) Vector 3 offers the all-in-one VectorBox. A turnkey solution that delivers the full range of playout automation features, VectorBox includes - ingest, graphics, channel branding and local programming management integrated into one chassis.
