TV triple for Compulite Vector

Stagetec Distribution have recently supplied Compulite Vector lighting control systems to three major TV Companies.
RTE in Dublin have purchased a Compulite Vector Blue system complete with iControl remote control and WYSIWYG, BBC Northern Ireland have purchased a Vector Green and Vector Blue system complete with iControl remote control, WYSIWYG, two Ethernet nodes and a Fader Wing and Granada Television in Manchester have purchased a Vector Green and Vector Blue system complete with iControl remote control and WYSIWYG.
The Vector systems in Northern Ireland were immediately put in to use on the BBC Proms in the Park, part of the Last Night of the Proms. There were outdoor concerts in several of the main regions, all contributing to the main network show, including a live link between all the regions in turn.
Lighting Director for the show was Philip Brines, with the Vector operated by John Gallagher, who said: “The Proms this year was a very busy show, but we were very pleased with the results and how the Vector performed.”
Granada Television in Manchester purchased their system via their own resource company 3SixtyMedia from Compulite reseller Flashlight in Manchester. Granada console operator Taras Kochan and LD Neil Yates have spent the past eight months looking at all the consoles available on the market. Kachan said: “After extensive research on a wide range of consoles it was clear that the Vector is way ahead of the competition in a number of key areas such as ease of programming, flexibility of operation, interaction with CAD and media software packages and multimedia capabilities. We often have a very tight turnaround for our productions and it was essential that the console we opted for was fast to program and completely dependable. The Vector fulfilled all our requirements with ease after being used on three productions over the past 8 months, this coupled with the excellent support from Stagetec Distribution over this period, made the decision to purchase Vector systems the only way forward. The systems were put straight into use the day after they were delivered.”
This brings the total number of Vector systems in the UK to 27, with many used on major productions such as the forthcoming XFactor and Strictly Come Dancing TV shows.
