Vector 3's NTM Roll-Out at IT Broadcast

A leading developer of IT-based graphics and playout automation solutions for the master control room, Vector 3, has attended the IT Broadcast Workflow conference in London.
The conference is a relatively new addition to the television scene. This year saw a repeat of the success of last year's inaugural event with around 130 delegates attending and 10 case studies presented.
The focus this year was on 'digitising workflows while reducing operational cost' and Vector 3 was able to highlight their products with a full demo of their systems, allowing participants to see the technology first-hand during the breaks.
Vector 3 jointly presented a case study with their repeat client NTM, a Swedish media group dating back to 1758.
They branched into television using Vector 3 technology with the launch of local television station 24NT (Norrköping) in 2006, followed by 24Corren (Linköping) and 24Norrbotten (Luleå) in 2008 and 24UNT (Uppsala), which was launched in October 2010.
The presentation emphasized the ease with which Teknomedia, NTM's wholly-owned production company, was able to integrate their in-house 'Edge' scheduling and asset management software with Vector 3's playout automation system, Vectorbox, thanks to its open architecture.
NTM also recently upgraded from Vectorbox to Vector Multiplay, enabling redundant resources to be dynamically managed and allocated, maximising flexibility and reducing costs.
The IT Based Workflow conference provided an ideal opportunity for Vector 3 to showcase their leadership in IT-based playout solutions, with integrated graphics and transition capabilities, enabling file-based workflows for multiple channels and reducing management and resource overheads.
"Television is coming under increasing threat as Internet-based video consumption increases," said Roman Ceano, General Manager, Vector 3.
"To continue to attract viewers, television needs to provide high-quality local content, relevant to viewers and take advantage of the latest technologies.
"The NTM four-channel roll-out is an excellent example of an innovative integrated solution with IT-based workflows, providing relevant information at a regional level," he added.
