Media Consultancy Signs 'Copy Deal'
An up-and-coming multi-media business in Northern Ireland has just agreed a deal to supply editorial content for the employment sections of a leading local newspaper.
Millar Grattan Media (mgm) will start the contract with the Belfast Telegraph's Jobfinder section in mid April with former Telegraph journalist Gary Grattan commenting: "We will be handling all the copy and we'll be keen to receive any suitable business stories and pictures as well as suggestions for 'Me-and-my-Job' candidates."
Appealing to PR agencies and in-house PR officers he continued: "At the moment there is a backlog of private sector profile candidates, however, the good news is that we need to feature more public sector people and their jobs."
Gary Grattan and colleague Mandi Millar (pictured) - another former senior Belfast Telegraph journalist initially set up mgm as a "no nonsense media and video consultancy".
He said it is "making multi-media increasingly accessible, and affordable, to a growing number of Northern Ireland businesses and organizations".
"Video has become a must-have weapon of the PR armoury," insisted Gary, who has covered a wide range of subject matter.
He held the positions of Security Correspondent and Education Correspondent at the Belfast Telegraph prior to his appointment as a News Editor where he also steered the launch of the paper's new morning edition.
Then, in 2007 he spearheaded the launch of Belfast Telegraph TV as the paper's first ever video editor, producing a diverse range of films covering everything from business to beauty, finance to fashion and pop to politics and was the only person from Northern Ireland to date ever short-listed in the Multi-media Journalist of the Year category in the 2009 UK Press Gazette Newspaper Awards.
Mandi Millar has used her journalistic knowledge and extensive contact base to help a range of community and voluntary, public and private sector organisations develop their media profile in Northern Ireland.
Prior to her work in the PR sector over the last six years, Mandi spent 15 years as a senior journalist with the Belfast Telegraph where she started Education Telegraph before going on to launch and edit the paper's Homefinder property supplement.
