A short produced through Northern Ireland Screen's Digital Shorts Programme has been selected for a prestigious national competition.
Sundays, written and directed by Alanna Riddell has been selected for competition at the London Independent Film Festival which runs from 15th to 27th April.
The festival focuses on films directed by first and second time directors, 36 feature films and 110 short films will be featured in the festival programme.
Surrounded by the prying eyes of mourners in a busy city cemetery grieving teenager Tommy struggles to bring himself to visit his mother's grave.
As others fail to see his pain, Tommy searches for a fitting way to feel close to his Mum. Mistrust, mutual misunderstandings and grief bring the teenager and an elderly widow to a greater understanding of each other's loss
Sundays was produced by Red Ray Films through the Digital Shorts Programme in 2009.
Northern Ireland Screen and The UK Film Council's Digital Shorts scheme is a year long programme which aims to seek out and develop new filmmaking talent and enable them to make innovative short films using digital technology.
Last summer, it was announced that four digital short films had gone into production in association with Northern Ireland Screen, including Sundays.
The other films were Davy Jones, Paint and The Dinner Party.
