LG.Philips Displays' picture tube wins EISA award

LG.Philips Displays' high definition (HD) picture tube is part of Philips' revolutionary 32PW9527 Pixel Plus TV, which has won the prestigious European Television of the Year 2002-2003 award from the European Imaging and Sound Association (EISA).
This tube is one of LG.Philips Displays new family of Real Flat Television Tubes, the Cybertube+.
EISA cited that the 32PW9527 sets "a new quality standard for the reproduction of DVD movies, broadcasts and all forms of digital video." This was supported by the incredible sharpness, detail and depth of LG.Philips Displays' 32" HD TV picture tube.
Pixel Plus technology doubles the horizontal resolution of standard TVs, and increases vertical resolution by a third. It generates more pixels from an incoming video signal (e.g. terrestrial broadcast, cable, satellite, DVD, VCR). The benefit of the Pixel Plus feature is further enhanced by using a high-end picture tube that has best in class sharpness (focus) performance to cope with the increased amount of video information.
The superb focus performance of LG.Philips Displays' 32"WSRF (Wide Screen Real Flat) HD picture tube is achieved by the introduction of a new innovative gun. This component significantly reduces the diameter of the electron beams to better resolve the increased number of pixels.
