Bradley Engineering Above The Field With Skytrack At Polo In The Park

A leading provider of fully integrated, unique, remote camera solutions, Bradley Engineering, has announced the first development of Skytrack, a new remote, high-wire push/pull camera system.
Skytrack was used by digital production company Blue Tuna, at The World Polo Series for the recording of Polo in the Park, a production for ITV. This will be the first time that a British broadcaster has aired the sport on terrestrial television.
Skytrack is a joint collaboration between Bradley Engineering and Remote Solutions, a provider of equipment for remote camera systems. The Skytrack ensemble, the first of its kind in Europe, enabled a Panasonic AW-HE870 high-performance, 2/3" HD/SD convertible camera housed within a Bradley Engineering U5 Remote Head to zip up and down a supported cable 30m above the polo pitch, allowing the camera operator to follow the fast-paced equestrian action.
A second cable provided a back-up to the first and a third cable pushed and pulled the Skytrack back and forth along the 300 metre pitch.
The operator, who was stationed near the pitch, had a bird's eye view of the all important action filming exciting aerial footage for the ITV production.
Polo in the Park, which airs on ITV1 on June 24 and ITV4 on June 23, captures the exhilaration of The World Polo Series, which took place earlier in this month. The event, which aims to bring polo to the masses, climaxed in a celebrity tournament. The three-day polo spectacular took place at Hurlingham Park in London's Fulham - the first time in 70 years the ground has played host to high-class polo ponies.
David Bradley, Chief Executive Officer of Bradley Engineering, said: "I have known Stuart at Remote Solutions for many years and our combined knowledge and engineering expertise has enabled us to develop the Skytrack system.
"We developed Skytrack specifically for this project but like so many of our creations it has the potential to cross to other applications."
Stuart Bush, CEO of Remote Solutions, added: "Skytrack offers new levels of reliability and easily stands up to the rigorous demands of this type of event. We are extremely pleased at the system's debut performance, which was a great success."
