Oscar-winning effects house appoint chairman
London-based visual effects house The Mill have named Eryl Morris as non-executive chairman.
Morris brings to The Mill 28 years business experience with international chemicals and packaging group Courtaulds and is also chairman of Airinmar Group Limited and HPI Group Limited, as well as being a non-executive director of Enodis plc.
Morris has been a non-executive director on the Mill Board since March 2001. He replaces executive chairman and company founder James Morris, who will remain as a non-executive director but will dedicate more of his time to his role as chairman of Irish broadcaster TV3 and Windmill Lane Pictures, also in Ireland. Film director Ridley Scott remains as non-executive co-chairman.
Robin Shenfield, CEO of The Mill, said: "Eryl has been on our Board since we completed our management buy-out with 3i and Royal Bank of Scotland in February 2001. He brings great value to The Mill and is extremely well suited to help us as we strive to maintain our position while keeping the business strong and focused on future growth opportunities. The fact that we have been able secure more of his time is a real coup. Eryl is excited about his new role and very committed to The Mill."
Morris’s business career includes a variety of roles at Courtaulds including main board director and deputy chief executive. While at Courtaulds he had a track record of expanding businesses on a global basis, commercialising new technology to achieve growth and introducing new IT systems worldwide.
