Blue Gets Busy In The Kitchen As Heston Prepares A 'Feast'
Post production house, blue, has completed post production on 'Heston's Feasts', superchef Heston Blumenthal's latest series, which sees the gastronomic genius look to the future of food by studying traditional dishes from the past.
The four-part series, which airs on Tuesday March 3 at 9pm on Channel 4, was made by Optomen and sees Heston travel back through Victorian Britain, Tudor England, the Medieval era and Ancient Rome.
He'll be looking at the popular dishes of the day including 24 blackbirds baked in a pie and a show stopping 'ejaculating' cake before recreating a spectacular feast, full of outrageous food and excess for a demanding gathering of celebs and food critics.
blue completed online, grade and sound mix on the series. Ben Ormerod was blue's dubbing mixer: "We had a lot of fun designing the sound for the short animations that we were provided. They were used to add some humour and I think they worked really well. The composer provided us with some great music which helped, and the rest of the work was very straightforward. We were all pleased with the outcome."
Can these forgotten dishes shape the future of our food, or will they be consigned to history once again? Catch this adventurous new series to find out.
