Link Research To Distribute And Support MRC's Video Transmission Equipment

Link Research is to provide distribution and technical support for the microwave transmission products from its USA sister company Microwave Radio Communications (MRC), in all territories outside the Americas.
The additional product range will extend Link's RF infrastructure capabilities. For example, Link will be offering more SD and HD equipment for receive sites and OB vehicles and will be introducing some new concepts in contribution, such as field editing facilitated by IP links.
The established distribution networks for Link Research and MRC will remain in place and will be combined to give one single, extended network of partners that reaches right across Europe, the Middle East and the Asia Pacific regions.
Link now has regional centres in Dubai and Singapore to support the company's growing business outside Europe. Link opened its Sales office in Dubai at the start of 2008 and has relocated its Singapore office to larger premises to accommodate sales support and engineering operations for both Link and MRC's wireless systems.
MRC's video transmission equipment is used to carry live pictures over microwave (wireless) links in a variety of applications in Broadcast and Defence, Law Enforcement and Security.
Together, Link and MRC systems have numerous applications in broadcast, defence, law enforcement and security. At the latest count, 37 cities have Link's "Cellular Diversity" newsgathering zones where broadcasters can operate live wireless cameras independently to full equipped satellite trucks.
Commenting, John Mulcahy, Managing Director of Link Research in Watford, said: "Our initial discussions with customers indicate that broadcasters are very interested in the new applications we can deliver. There is enormous interest in cellular receive sites for wireless cameras and high capacity links for High Definition broadcast trucks."
