Clear-Com Introduces Concert At InfoComm 2008
Clear-Com Communication Systems is bringing intercom solutions to the desktop PC with the introduction of its first software-based intercom system, Clear-Com Concert at InfoComm 2008 (Stand C3583),
Clear-Com is the leading innovator of communications systems for the broadcast, live performance, government and commercial markets.
This news multi-user conferencing and intercom product provides broadcasters of all sizes with a reliable and cost-effective way to easily intercommunicate.
Based on Voice-Over-Internet Protocol (VoIP) technology, Clear-Com Concert's enhanced audio features deliver crystal-clear sound and non-blocking communications over a standard Local Area Network or Intranet between local and remote users.
This eliminates the need for picking up a phone or connecting to a conference bridge. An intuitive interface facilitates ad-hoc communications and makes the user the conductor of his or her own audio conference with easy drag-and-drop functionality and simple point-and-click controls.
The 'Presence Awareness' feature monitors participants' availability, allowing users to communicate more efficiently in highly demanding and collaborative settings.
Jake Dodson, Clear-Com Vice President of Product Management, said: "Today's broadcasters are faced with having to work in fast-paced environments where time is of the essence. Clear-Com Concert is a cost-effective solution for addressing this need. It is the ideal system for time-sensitive applications, such as on-location mobile production trucks and live broadcasts.
"It makes communication seamless. For example, freelancers working from home or in the field can now connect to their desktops or laptop computers via a user-friendly interface using a microphone or headset. These conferences can be initiated within minutes and are of such high clarity that it actually sounds as if they're in the same room with other participants."
The system, scalable to many hundreds of users, is designed with proprietary protocols and error recovery algorithms for mission-critical applications that include live broadcast productions.
The system uses AES 128-bit encryption to provide "online banking" grade security for protecting privacy of transmissions. With texting and online chat capabilities that offer easy escalation to a voice session, users have increased control and flexibility. Supporting a variety of CODECs including wideband and ultra wideband, Clear-Com Concert provides realistic audio that captures more components of the human voice for speech quality enhancement than those previously available on the market.
Clear-Com is a leading provider of professional communication solutions for broadcast, live performance, military, government and commercial markets. Further information is available at: www.clearcom.com.
