Link Research Shows L1500 SD/HD Transmitter At NAB
Link Research will be demonstrating its newest cameraback radio, the L1500 unit, which is already in use at live events, at NAB 2008.
The L1500 is a wireless camera transmitter, which can be used in Standard Definition or High Definition, with just a software upgrade is needed to support HD. It has a wide selection of RF modules, which can be easily swapped over to operate in bands from 1.4 to 7.5GHz.
Link has used its own encoding and modulation methods to cut transmission delays to approximately one frame. This makes the L1500 suitable for live sports productions.
Camera control for Sony and Thomson Grass Valley TM cameras is also offered as an option.
Link has been supplying L1500 transmitters to US broadcasters since the end of 2007 as part of the BAS Relocation Project. However, most US customers have not yet seen this product demonstrated and this is its first appearance at NAB.
Link Research manufactures a complete range of wireless camera systems with antennas, receivers and amplifiers for live news and sports video.
Link Research is a £13 million company with a reputation for technical innovation and an outstanding range of advanced wireless products for electronic newsgathering. It became part of the Vislink group in February 2005.
Further information is available at: www.linkres.co.uk.
Vislink PLC is a £100 million global technology business with companies operating in the broadcast contribution and the defence and security markets.
Further information is available at: www.vislink.com.
