Movie Mogul Fund Launches Feature Film Competition

Movie Mogul Fund have launched the 'Micro Movie Lab' competition, an online open-call for ideas to be developed into a user-generated feature film.
Budding film aficionados are invited to submit 25 words of less 'micro-pitches' to The Cherry Bowl, the first round of the competition.
Facing a members vote, the top ten ranking ideas will go before a Jury Panel consisting of industry professionals; Huw Penallt Jones from Capital Films, Ed Thomas from the Fiction Factory, Mark Sandell from Trinity Filmed Entertainment, Olivier Lauchenauer from Pogo Films and John Shackleton of Movie Mogul Ltd.
John Shackleton said: "Almost every aspect of this film will come from users of the website. The talent is out there, and we can't wait to see what they come up with, given this unique and fun opportunity."
The Cherry Bowl prizes are: the winning idea being used as the basis for the movie; a screen credit 'based on an original idea by...'; a share in the film's profits; £100 cash and; member awards of £100 and £50 runner-up prizes.
Further rounds include a Writer's Brief, with a prize winning a screenplay-writing commission, and an open Director and Producer's call, to bring the vision to life. The production budget of £100k will be raised by members of the website purchasing affordable units at £4.95 each.
All winners and unit holders will share in the film's profits and own it jointly.
The film aims to go into production towards the end of the year, under the supervision of participating Jury members.
