Scott Fleary Move On Up To New Premises

Set construction company Scott Fleary are moving to larger premises.
Having been based at Battersea for the last 15 years, Director, Matthew Scott said: “Sadly the time has come to leave Battersea. We are now finding that 10,000 sq ft of manufacturing space is simply not enough for the size of our operations. We will now be able to offer our clients a much more inclusive service, where in the past we have had to sub-contract or outsource due to lack of space.”
Scott Fleary has purchased a brand new build industrial terrace, comprising of four individual units totalling 22,000 sq ft. based in Streatham. Having purchased off-plan the new units will be fitted out to the exact requirements of a modern contemporary scenery manufacturer.
Matthew Scott said: “We didn’t want to be restricted by an old crumbling building that was not fit for purpose and fiercely resisted the temptation to leave central London. Our new base gives access to and from central London within 20 minutes. That’s great for our clients who don’t particularly like taking a day out to visit their set builders. It also means we can continue to supply on site cover within the hour.”
As well as the expanded services Scott Fleary will offer they are also opening new 5,000 sq ft paint and test build facility for dry hire purposes.
Director, Ken Fleary, said: “There is a total lack of available dry hire facilities within central London. The last five years has seen a rapid decline in the availability of such premises. We intend to reverse that trend and offer a central London dedicated paint space or test build space for hire. So far the response from the Scenic Artist community and production managers has been very encouraging, indicating there’s a huge need for such a facility.”
Scott Fleary has provided high quality scenic services to the entertainment industry for the past 15 years.
Scott added: “We have refused to be pigeon holed when it comes to scenery. We are set builders, be it Theatrical, Television, Exhibition, Fixed installations, Live events and Conferencing. We have learnt the disciplines from all sectors and bring a wealth of experience to all projects. Moving to Streatham will consolidate that position and place us in the top three contractors in London; obviously our main desire is to be number one. Historically, looking at the business now we fully believe that’s achievable."
Recent high profile projects include: X Factor (ITV), His Dark Materials (National), The Apprentice (BBC), Sky News Studio (Sky), War Horse (National), Tosca (Royal Opera House), Nigella Express (BBC), Bafta’s Main & 60 years (ITV), Dancing on Ice (ITV), Dying for it (Almeida), Turn of the Screw (Glyndebourne), Sony Global Launch (Imagination), Tour De France main stage (Innovision), Spamalot (West End).
