Off The Fence Launches Joost Channels
Leading independent production and distribution company Off the Fence has partnered with Joost, the world's first broadcast-quality Internet television service, to launch two new channels via their online platform – Off the Fence Go Wild and Off the Fence Explore.
Joost offers a new way of watching TV on the internet, providing 21st century entertainment to a global, highly networked community. Off the Fence is supplying a vast range of programming for viewing via Joost channels – which offer full screen television entertainment via secure, peer-to-peer streaming technology through a broadband Internet connection.
Erik Schuit, Head of Distribution at Off the Fence, who brokered the deal, said: “We are delighted that such a wide range of Off the Fence programming will be available on the Joost platform, giving us the opportunity to go direct-to-consumer. This really does offer the next generation in TV viewing, combining the best aspects of traditional television viewing with internet community services and on-demand viewing where the long-term revenue projection looks very interesting. We are confident that the range of titles published will be a very popular addition to the Joost channels.”
Fifteen titles will be allocated to each channel with Off the Fence Go Wild serving up a range of wildlife programming including 'Awesome Pawsome', 'Mountain Rivals', 'Animal Inventors', 'Wild & Weird and Young & Wild' and 'Off the Fence Explore' concentrating on documentaries such as 'Alcatraz: Defying the Rock', 'Freeze Me', 'Europe’s Secret Earthquakes', 'Kill or Cure' and 'The Girl Whose Muscles are Turning to Stone'.
A further 210 hours of Off the Fence programming can be found on Joost via keyword searches including Kill or Cure, Nature’s Greatest Moments, 21st Century Garden Art, The Big Swell, Ice Worlds and The Day That James Dean Died.
Established in 1994, Off the Fence is an independent television distribution and production company, specialising in non-fiction programming for the international marketplace.
