SOS To Release 60 Short Films

SOS, the messaging campaign behind the Live Earth global concert series on July 7 2007, are set to release 60 short films created by a plethora of award winning directing talent including names such as Kevin MacDonald, Rob Reiner and Aardman Animation.
Rushes worked with three of the directors, Suzannah Deakin of Slinky Pictures, Big TV from Fabhand Media and Alex Smith to create the films.
The mission of the SOS Short Films Programme is to create a series of compelling and informative short films between 1 and 10 minutes in length that highlight the problems with, and the solutions to the global climate crisis.
The short films will broadcast on a variety of television networks worldwide in the run up to and during the concert events on the 7 of July. The films are also being streamed online via global online partner MSN as well as being shown at international film & music festivals throughout the summer before being released on DVD later in the year.
"Global warming is a generational challenge requiring a global response. The SOS Short Films Program harnesses some of the world's most creative minds to educate, inform and inspire people across the globe to solve the climate crisis," former Vice President Gore said.
Founded by Kevin Wall, Worldwide Executive Producer of Live 8, Live Earth is a 24-hour, 7-continent concert series on 7/7/07 that will bring together more than 100 of the world’s top music acts to inspire an audience of over two billion people to combat global warming. Official Live Earth concerts will be staged in New York, London, Sydney, Rio de Janeiro, Tokyo, Shanghai, Johannesburg, Hamburg and Istanbul.
