Foyle Film Festival To Screen Biopic 'Agnes'

Post production is near completion on the docu-drama ‘Agnes’ and the first screening will take place at a Civic reception at The Guildhall in Derry on November 3 at 7.30pm.
The project, featuring the talents of Bronagh Gallagher, Dan Gordon, Aoife Madden and Andrew Simpson, was produced by Ambient Light Productions, a company based in Derry.
The film, the company’s first foray into docu-drama, is directed by Ambient Light's Eoin Coffey.
Coffey commented: "For me it's a whole new genre, but that's why I became a filmmaker, it's always challenging, always a new problem to solve, we need to be constantly learning and trying new things. It's always about the questions and never the answers.”
Producer Tony Doherty commented: “This production would not have been possible on this scale without the help of the Derry community, from costume making to appearing as extras and even composing a soundtrack for post-production they really have been invaluable to the whole production.”
Agnes will then screen during the Foyle Film Festival on November 17 as part of a double bill with Ambient Light’s recent short for RTE, ‘Peace Cubed’.
