News World rescheduled for October
News World have brought their 2003 event forward by a month to give delegates an early opportunity to review the state of the news industry in what will almost certainly be the aftermath of war.
The ninth annual News World conference and exhibition, originally scheduled for late November, will now take place at The Burlington Hotel, Dublin, from October 21-23.
News World editorial director, Patrick Stoddart, said: “While it is obviously far too soon to predict the exact agenda, the news industry will have faced some of the most difficult challenges imaginable by the time the summer is over, and we are responding to the wishes of supporters by bringing News World forward so that they can waste no time debating the issue they will have faced in covering this contentious conflict.
“The conference will bring together senior news executives, frontline reporters, key political and military players, equipment makers and technology experts - all of whom will have played their part in this century’s first major international crisis.”
Apart from the troubles in the Gulf, News World will continue to examine the other contemporary issues pressing on the industry and will expand on the initiatives that made its 2002 conference the most critically acclaimed ever.
