SysMedia Launches Direct Mobile Output For Plasma Teletext System

SysMedia has announced the launch of the WAP Gateway for ever-popular analogue teletext services as a simple add-on for its PLASMA content generation and management system.
The WAP Gateway has been introduced in direct response to customer demand. It allows the production of WAP (Wireless Application Protocol) pages from existing teletext services that can then be viewed on any internet-enabled mobile phone. This allows the service to be navigated in the same way on a mobile as it is via a TV remote using the time-honoured, easy-to-use page-numbering system with fast links on each page.
“Sometimes the simplest ideas are the best. There are a lot of very popular teletext services out there powered by PLASMA. Adding this WAP functionality can extend the service reach to a whole new potential audience – and it’s so very simple and cost-effective to do,” says SysMedia’s Teletext Sales Executive, Daimon Hall.
In addition, the company is launching the Text Input Gateway at IBC 2006. This allows journalists and other contributors to make fast text changes on teletext pages using a standard web browser.
