Scottish Films Gain Credence With World Audiences
Scottish films continue to gain international recognition as they screen at a number of prestigious festivals around the world with seven Scottish short films recently screening at the Palm Springs event.
Carole Sheridan, Head of Talent & Creativity at Scottish Screen, said: “It is fantastic news that Scottish films are being shown at prestigious international festivals. These films demonstrate the quality of Scottish filmmaking talent and storytelling. Scottish Screen are delighted to have been involved in these films which help bring Scottish culture to as wide an audience as possible. We congratulate all the talented people behind these films.”
A trio of films, all supported with Scottish Screen National Lottery funds, will be shown at the Toronto Film Festival from September 10-16. They are:
Established in 1997, Scottish Screen is the national screen agency for Scotland with responsibility for developing all aspects of screen culture and industry across the country.
