Scottish films now publicly available
The two Scottish Screen Lottery funded films directed by acclaimed young director David MacKenzie will both be available to the public at the end of September, one on DVD and other in cinemas.
Universal Pictures has announced that they will release a DVD of David MacKenzie's first film 'The Last Great Wilderness' from Sigma Films to coincide with the theatrical release by Warners of David's second film, the EIFF opener, 'Young Adam' from The Recorded Picture Company.
Both films were funded and developed with Scottish Screen Lottery Funding and Chief Executive Steve McIntyre is delighted that MacKenzie's talent is being recognised in this way.
He said: "Scottish Screen saw in David someone of tremendous talent and that talent combined with the drive and determination of Gillian Berrie, one of his partners in Sigma Films, means that this partnership will go from strength to strength. We are delighted to have funded the films and especially pleased that the public will get the chance to see The Last Great Wilderness on DVD at the same time as Young Adam is released theatrically."
