ITN Source opens for business in Germany
ITN Source (formerly ITN Archive), the world’s fastest growing commercial archive and moving image provider, continues its impressive global expansion by opening the doors of a German sales office.
Situated in archive partners’ Reuters building in the heart of Berlin, the German bureau will open for business on August 1 and will provide German-speaking territories, the East European market and Russia, with direct access to a local sales office.
The German office will be headed-up by Olivia Schofield, Account Executive, who will be responsible for driving new business across the region. A German-speaker, Schofield has a strong background in television production, having spent seven years at the BBC working on a diverse range of programming including Ruby Wax Meets… and Tomorrow’s World, before moving into the independent sector and joining Granada Germany, where her projects included the hit series, Krűger Sieht Alles.
Working closely with the archive research team based at ITN Source’s London headquarters, the team will provide the German-speaking and East European regions with content from ITN Source’s extensive catalogue of archive libraries which include Reuters, ITN, Fox News, Fox Movietone, British Pathé, Granada and Channel 4.
ITN Source has also recently added a compilation of footage to mark the forthcoming 50th anniversary of the Hungarian Uprising, including, for the first time in one collection, pictures from the newsreels of British Pathé and British Paramount as well as original ITN footage of the Hungarian people's short-lived attempt to remove their Soviet overlords and their subsequent defeat. Also included is the Pathé item 'The Agony Of Hungary', featuring rare shots of combat.
Chris O’Hearn, Commercial Director, ITN Source, said: “Opening a German sales office is another exciting step in ITN Source’s continuing international growth. We represent such a huge and varied range of content that the appeal is truly global, and we are delighted to be able to offer our customers in these regions the access and convenience of a dedicated local office.”
