ITN Archive appoints new head of New York office

ITN has appointed Stephen Messere as Northern American Head of Sales at ITN Archive’s office in New York.
Messere succeeds James Jordan, whose company Jordexx Television has run the North American sales operation since 1999 and which is now preparing to launch a new cable news channel in the US.
Jordexx has achieved spectacular growth for ITN in the past five years, with revenues now rivalling those of the major US news networks. The ITN Archive is now embarking on a second phase for the business during which Messere will be responsible for delivering forward further growth in sales in the US market.
Messere joins ITN from Getty Images, where he has been Director of Editorial Sales News, Entertainment and Publishing since 2002. While there he oversaw a period of major sales growth.
Messere said: “This is an exciting time to be joining a company looking to seriously expand their video archive licensing business in North America. The strength of the ITN archive, combined with archive material from industry leading media partners will help the ITN Archive sales team to reach more customers and to increase revenue for the coming year”.
Alwyn Lindsey, ITN Archive’s Managing Director, said: “Stephen brings a wealth of experience to help us drive forward our international archive sales business. ITN Archive is now the world’s biggest commercial news and history archive. But that’s no reason to rest on our laurels and we are looking at new areas for growth and the North American market is crucial to that aim. I have every confidence that Stephen and his team will achieve just that”.
Paying tribute to James Jordan he added: “The brief that we gave to James five years ago was to fast track our business and quickly establish ITN Archive as a leading player in the North American market so that we could then run the business directly. He has achieved precisely that and quite simply, we could not have asked for more. We wish James and Jordexx the very best for their exciting new venture”.
