S4C SEEKS NEW WELSH ANIMATION TALENT
WELSH broadcaster S4C is seeking submissions for 26 new animated films to be produced or directed by animators who have lived, worked, been born or educated in Wales.
The broadcaster wants proposals for 20 x 45-second films and 4 x 3-minute and 2 x 6-minute film projects.
The 45 second films will have budgets of £4,500 and should not contain dialogue, while the three-minute films will have £22,000 budgets and should have Welsh and English-language versions. The longer the films are backed by budgets of up to £70,000, and S4C is also interested in co-financing possibilities with Channel 4, BBC 2 and other channels or media.
S4C wants directors to work with local studios, facilities and writers, and the submissions should demonstrate strong story and visual content concepts.
Proposals should be sent to S4C director of animation Chris Grace by the end of October this year for delivery in October next year.
