S4C sponsors showcase for Welsh music talent

S4C have embarked on a project to sponsor up-and-coming talent in Wales by lining up a theatre tour for local band Big Leaves.
The tour is a platform for S4C to promote their new drama series 'Y Tþ' particularly as Big Leaves have supplied the soundtrack for the series. S4C’s music magazine '4 Trac' will also be filming a special programme following the tour.
Huw Chiswell, S4C’s Commissioner for Light Entertainment Programmes, said: “S4C are delighted to be sponsoring the Big Leaves 2002 Theatre Tour. We are keen to promote all types of talent in Wales and this tour is a great opportunity for us to support one of Wales’ most active and talented bands."
The tour dates are; Wyeside Arts Centre, Builth Wells, on February 28; the Theatr Ardudwy, Harlech, on March 1; Theatr Seilo, Caernarfon, on March 2; Theatr Clwyd, Mold, on March 3; Theatr Mwldan, Cardigan, on March 6; and Theatr y Werin, Aberystwyth, on March 9.
A local band will open each evening, before the second support band takes to the stage.
The band will be jetting off to Texas at the end of March to play in the ‘South by South West’ festival.
