BBC RESOURCES OPEN NEW HSBC ACCOUNT
BBC Resources has created a new interactive banking channel for High Street banking giant HSBC.
This new service, the first of its type in the UK, goes live for account holders on BskyB’s Sky Digital interactive channel ‘Open’ on September 20.
James Coulson, interactive designer for BBC Resources said: “We focused on the development of an interactive banking lifestyle. We reintroduced the sofa that the client had used in their advertising some time ago, and updated it to go with the new HSBC branding.
"The sofa becomes the place where consumers can take control of their lives through the convenience of interactive TV banking. The concept has allowed us to demonstrate the benefits of the service in a lively and engaging way to target audience.”
From the outset BBC Resources’ team of designers and producers treated the project as broadcast television, and not as an internet site.
The aim was to engage the viewer and get them involved with the service – rather than just using it as an interactive website to retrieve bank account information.
The design team took HSBC’s established ‘internet-style’ artwork and gave it a more friendly ‘television’ feel.
