BSkyB to extend interactive betting service

British Sky Broadcasting (BSkyB) are to extend the line-up of interactive television betting services available through Sky Active following a new agreement with the pools betting service TotoPools.
In the spring, TotoPools will appear on digital television for the first time, offering viewers the chance to win big cash prizes for forecasting the top games in English or European football. The service will complement Sky Active's existing fixed-odds betting by appealing to fans who want to use their skill to predict the outcome of a range of football matches.
TotoPools, the first pools-based betting company to operate on Sky Active, will be available alongside Sky Active's current betting service providers Surrey Sports and Blue Square.
Jon Florsheim, managing director of Sky Interactive, said: "The addition of pools betting to Sky Active will broaden the range of betting opportunities that we offer and will particularly appeal to the punter who is attracted by the chance of a big win with a small stake."
In addition to football pools betting, they will offer a range of services, together with competitions on football, current events, television shows and trivia.
Viewers can access Sky Active by pressing the Interactive button on their digital remote control and then selecting Sky Active from the interactive service menu.
