Industry celebrates outstanding achievements at Skillset Awards

Top industry figures gathered at BAFTA recently to congratulate industry professionals receiving Skillset Professional Qualifications, the industry approved training standard.
The achievement of a representative sample of thirty individuals, in fields ranging from camera assistance to production and lighting provision, was celebrated at the fifth Skillset/Michael Samuelson Memorial Awards ceremony hosted by Skillset Patron, Lord Puttnam, on November 28.
Skillsets first ever Outstanding Achievement Awards were also presented at the ceremony to Iona Williams, from leading Welsh training provider Cyfle, and to freelance training provider, FT2. Both Cyfle and FT2 have worked tirelessly over the years to ensure new talent gets the best possible preparation for a successful career in the industry.
Lord Puttnam said: “This awards ceremony is about celebrating excellence in individuals and organisations. Their achievements and commitment to skills and talent development makes a real difference to the continued success of the industry. It’s been enormously encouraging to see the high priority given to skills by all the senior industry figures that have come along tonight to support Skillsets work.”
