Skillset Talent To Showcase Work For Film Industry

The UK’s top emerging film talent will be showcasing their work at the National Film Theatre next week.
The filmmakers – from the Skillset national network of Screen Academies – will be on hand to talk about their award-winning work and engage with journalists, development executives and industry figures keen to explore future working opportunities.
The Skillset Screen Academies were selected by the industry as the UK’s top film schools. They include the National Film & Television School, Bournemouth Screen Academy (Bournemouth Media School, and Arts Institute Bournemouth), Screen Academy Scotland (Napier University and Edinburgh College of Art), The London Film School, Screen Academy at London College of Communications (LCC) and Ealing Institute of Media (EIM), and Screen Academy Wales (University of Glamorgan and International Film School Wales).
Janine Marmot, Skillset Director of Film, said the Skillset Screen Academy Talent Showcase – the first since the Network was established two years ago – would provide the ideal opportunity for film industry figures to lay an early eye on the talent coming into the industry.
Marmot said: “This is a fantastic opportunity for producers and industry to spot the best and brightest new talent, a chance for relationships to be formed and deals struck. This is an invaluable networking opportunity for industry and filmmakers.”
The event is being held at the National Film Theatre, London Southbank on Wednesday, October 3. The day will run from 9am to 5.30pm followed by a drinks reception. The format of the event is designed to allow people to drop in or stay all day.
