APTN APPOINT RITCHIE AS CHIEF EXECUTIVE
ASSOCIATED Press Television News (APTN) have appointed Ian Ritchie as Chief Executive of APTN, the international video news service of Associated Press.
Ritchie joins APTN from Middle East Broadcasting Ltd (MBC), where he was Chief Executive Officer responsible for television, radio and transmission of digital and cable operations in the Middle East.
Ritchie will take up his new post during October and will be based in London.
Ritchie said: “APTN have a fantastic and well-known brand name in the television news business and a well-earned reputation as a global player. I look forward to building upon APTN’s brand and taking advantage of new technologies while maintaining APTN’s high standard of editorial quality and integrity.”
Prior to MBC Ritchie Chief Executive Officer of Channel 5 Broadcasting Ltd, where he had full responsibility for the start up of Britain’s fifth broadcast channel.
Ritchie has also served as an Executive with Granada Television, Yorkshire-Tyne Tees Television and London Weekend Television.
